Two-thirds of software implementations will deliver functionality that is never or rarely used. Unfortunately, the 2/3 “technology waste” metric follows broader technology implementations. This course will offer insight into the heart of the root causes behind failed technology implementations before offering a proven holistic operational framework for resolution. What makes this course unique is the focus on people, process, and technology dimensions required to successfully transform business operations. This pragmatic course will be taught from a real-world perspective. First, the course is taught by a top executive in operations management who has worked directly in top Fortune companies (e.g. HP, General Motors, EDS, Vision Service Plan, Cisco) as well as leading government organizations (e.g. California Department of Health, Transportation and Municipal Utilities). Second, students will be asked to apply leading business operations frameworks to current day business challenges facing public and private segments. There are no academic case studies here in this curriculum and course, which consistently achieves a 4.7 out of 5 for course satisfaction as a university offering.
This course will allow the learner to do the following:
There is one secondary learning objective, which is simply to make students more marketable in their industries. This is achieved by arming students with up to 20 real-world processes and technology frameworks that are able to be applied immediately after this course.
